Chile is a unique natural laboratory to study the insertion and development of marine renewable energy. The extensive coastline of more than 6000 km and the presence of extreme events like earthquakes, tsunamis and storm surges bring large opportunities and challenges.
The Workshop provides a wide and interdisciplinary perspective on the current development of marine energy.
Attendants will have the opportunity to share results and experiences, and discuss strategies to accelerate the development of marine renewable energy in a local and global context.
Researchers, scientists, students, and marine energy technology developers are expected to attend.
The Workshop is jointly organized by MERIC, Universidad Austral de Chile and Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile.
