Founded in 1552, the City of Valdivia is one of the most important in Chile (http://chile.travel/en/about-chile/) and, as a result of its size and significance, it is a favorite destination for travelers. Placed 842 kilometers southwards from the City of Santiago, the rivers and turrets feature prominently in the impressive landscape of Valdivia. It’s the oldest city at these southerly latitudes anywhere in the world, surrounded by verdant setting of meadows and woodlands.

To enter Chile, you have to present your identification documents, like your ID card or passport. And, depending on your country of origin, a stamped visa.

Citizens from South America, the European Union, USA, Canada and Australia do not need tourist visas. However, some countries must pay a tax in cash (reciprocity tax) upon arriving at the airport in Chile.
